Aim and Scope of the Journal

The aim of the Legal History Journal is to contribute to the development of legal history at both the national and international levels, to integrate the community of legal historians, to disseminate the results of scientific research, to create a platform for scholarly discourse, and to support scientific communication between legal historians and historians and lawyers.

 The topics addressed in CPH cover a wide range of issues related to the history of law. In particular, works dedicated to research on the history of political and legal systems, the history of political and legal doctrines, the history of Roman and canon law, religious law, and the history of law as a science are published. Historical-legal works may also include research in the field of legal philosophy, legal dogmatics, comparative law, or other disciplines such as political science, sociology, or literary studies.

 The texts published in CPH on the history of law take various forms. These include articles, materials and minor works, review articles, and reports on important events for the scholarly community of legal historians. Texts in CPH are published mainly in Polish and English, but works in German, French, and Italian are also accepted.
