Abstract
This review concerns the book Writings (1416–1432) The struggle for the Self-Determination of Central Europe, a translation into English of the works of Paweł Włodkowic. The author of the review presents Paweł Włodkowic in short form, focussing on the content of the book. It is important to highlight that the translation is preceded by an extensive foreword and introduction. They familiarise Paweł Włodkowic and his works as well as the history of the conflict between Poland and the Teutonic Order. This conflict caused medieval Polish authors to engage in the problem of international law. In conclusion, the author of the review views the book positively, mainly because it presents to the foreign reader not only the Polish medieval school of international law but also Polish history.
