Biblioteka

The journal "Biblioteka” is a scholarly periodical covering the history of the book, the history of libraries and their collections, contemporary librarianship, bibliology, information science and documentation, and press studies. The annual "Biblioteka” comprises two permanent sections: ARTICLES and REVIEWS. Articles are accompanied by abstracts and keywords in English. The titles of all scholarly contributions, the table of contents of each volume, and the Key Guidelines for Preparing Manuscripts for Biblioteka are also translated into English. The journal’s primary discipline is Social Communication and Media Studies. The online version of the title is the original version of the journal.. The annual "Biblioteka” has been published since 1997. The current edition is the continuation of the periodical published under the same title between 1960 and 1970 as part of the Adam Mickiewicz University Scientific Papers series (Zeszyty Naukowe Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza). To emphasize this continuity, the new journal "Biblioteka” – which differs from its predecessor in both format and editorial programme—was assigned a dual numbering system. The first volume of the new edition was designated as Volume 1, while continuity with the earlier periodical was indicated by an additional number, given in parentheses, reflecting the title’s overall publication sequence.

The Editorial Office of "Biblioteka” does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, or publication.
