Purpose and thematic scope of the journal

The Bulletin of the History of Education is one of the most important Polish academic journals in this field of research. The authors of the published articles include researchers and PhD students representing leading academic centres in Poland, as well as foreign scholars, PhDs, postdoctoral graduates, professors. Papers are written by historians, historians of education, but also researchers from other fields of humanities and social sciences.
The topics of the published articles are very broad, both in chronological sense - from antiquity to modern times – and geographically: from civilizations of ancient Egypt and the Middle East, to Europe and Poland, as well as in the field of issues and approaches (including the methodology, source, historiographic or statistical ones). The list of issues is dominated by the history of upbringing and education, as well as the history of various types of educational institutions. Several papers can be described as interdisciplinary studies on the border of humanities and social sciences.

Open Access Policy

The journal provides immediate, open access to all its content in line with the principle that freely available research increases and accelerates global science development and the exchange of knowledge. The editors encourage authors to upload their articles published in the journal to open repositories (after the review or in the final version of the publisher) provided that they add a link to the journal page and the DOI number of the article.

The journal does not charge any fees to authors for the procedure of accepting and publishing papers.
